North: 20 Years of Fourth Floor
Over the past 20 years, North have done an incredible amount of high-quality work for Fourth Floor, a one-off hairdressing salon run by Richard Stepney based in Holborn. From creating the entire line of packaging for the products to designing an extensive range of bespoke cards, North have undeniably formed a stunning identity for the salon.
To document Fourth Floors’ past twenty years since it opened, North created a book showing the events, ideas and stories that have occurred, split into sections influenced by the prolific clientele. Such clients include Channel 4 news reporter Jon Snow who describes the area of WC1, and Nigel Slater and furniture designer Tom Dixon. The entire book is a lovely visual feast so more images of the book are very likely to follow soon.
The full feature for such a large amount of work can be found in the latest post on September Industry and hopefully in a few magazines and publications shortly. I actually contributed to this book too photographically which is soon to be placed on the shelves of the British Library which I’m pretty excited about.

The placement at North has been great. Ended up working for two months instead of the original plan of six weeks which I’m really pleased with. It’s completely exceeded my expectations so far and has been such a useful experience.
